Eyes on the Prize

Posted: September 30, 2010 in Uncategorized

So, the Nanowrimo 2010 site goes live tomorrow, which means I’m down to a month to finish Nine Dead Suns (Draft 2.)

It seems that NDS is going to require a bit more actual new writing than I had anticipated. I had a great talk with my father a few nights ago about his notes on the first draft, and in talking things out, a few new things occurred to me. So, Saturday is going to be the last day of red pen work (I’ve only got about 60-some pages left to go) and then I’m bulling right into draft two.

What does this mean for you? It means I need your help to keep my eyes on the prize throughout October. It’s going to be a busy month, and I know I’m going to be exploding with ideas for the new Nanowrimo novel. But that’s November, and I need to keep focus on the present if I’m going to have it done by the 31st. (No, scratch that… the 25th. I have Rock Band 3 duties on the 26th!)

See? See what I mean? Damn you, parenthetical part of my brain!

Bug me. All month. Nine Dead Suns. This is our focus. Well, that and putting a few comic pitches togeth–aaaaugh!

Doug

Tomorrow: All my new ideas for Nanowrimo, comic scripts, and this screenplay that I–aaaaaaugh!
